Detailinformationen
Quellcurriculum Bachelorstudium Chemistry and Chemical Technology 2021W
Ziele (*)basic understanding and knowledge of physical chemistry
Lehrinhalte (*)Physical chemistry establishes and develops the principles of matter and its changes in terms of the underlying concepts of physics and mathematics. Thus, experimental observation can be transformed in the language of mathematics to explain and interpret physical and chemical properties of matter. Students in this lecture will get a basic understanding in the application of the principles of physical chemistry leading to an understanding of the processes responsible for industrial processes and life. At the end of this course, students should have basic knowledge in: 1)Gas laws

  • Empirical gas laws
  • Description of real gases
  • Kinetic gas theory
  • Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution

2)Introduction to quantum chemistry

  • History of atomistic development
  • Bohr atomic model
  • Schrödinger equation
  • Particle-in-a-box

3)Thermodynamics

  • Classical thermodynamics
  • Cycle processes
  • Statistical thermodynamics
  • Partition function
  • Chemical equilibrium

4)Introduction to chemical kinetics
