The different groups of the periodic table are systematically covered with a special focus on the s- and p-block elements and their most relevant compounds.
Among the topics treated are the abundancy of the elements and their availability, technical production and use of selected elements, important classes of compounds including synthesis, structures and properties, selected reactions and applications.
