Objectives
Insight into the spectrum of tasks, the innovation challenges, and operational environments of mechanical and plant engineering companies as orientation guide and as motivation for students for the curriculum’s contents by means of examples from relevant industrial fields.
Subject
Familiarity with operational fields of activity with emphasis on innovation processes by means of excursions to mechanical and plant engineering companies.
Innovation project: Creation of ideas for product innovations, development of product concepts, of solution concepts, and initial realization proposals by means of specific examples. Thereby, students should become familiar with typical challenges related to product innovations and should get insight into typical engineering tasks and the corresponding requirements.
