- Basic principles of optimal control
- Knowledge of the structure and the functional principle of power supply systems - Specific requirements to the control of power supply systems - Importance of storing energy and the impact to the efficiency of energy systems
Subject
The operation of power supply systems places specific requirements to the control, which differ considerably from the control of “classic” control engineering or the focus is weighted differently.
E.g. the efficiency of a supply system will be treated with very high priority, other properties like the remaining control deviation or the settling time play due to existing storage units only a minor role.
This lecture deals with different structures of power supply system and their control. Furthermore the underlying optimization procedures will be addressed to design a control system for several examples from different disciplines.
