Objectives Computer science students master the basics of electronics. They are able to calculate simple electrical networks as well as design logic gates on the transistor level and differentiate between the implementation of different storage systems.
Subject Overview of the course contents:

  • Electrical current (Ohm's law, charge, current, voltage)
  • Electrical circuits (sources, Kirchhoff's laws)
  • Resistor, capacitor, inductor
  • Diode and transistor (MOS-FET)
  • From the transistor to the logical gate
  • Memory (SRAM, DRAM, FLASH)
Criteria for evaluation Written and/or oral exam at the end of the semester.
Methods Discussion of slides and interactive examples using blackboard.
