Objectives Function, application and limits of NF. Energy consumption in comparison with conventional methods. Description and calculation of the corresponding separation processes
Subject General principles and classification of NF within the membrane separation processes. NF membranes and potential applications. Characterization of NF membranes and differentiation of RO and UF membranes. Description of the separation on the basis of examples, creation of simple models. Design and dimensioning of separation stages for the industrial scale. Description of executed plants in the industry.
Criteria for evaluation General understanding of NF and the ability to apply the collected knowledge, to solve simple separation tasks and the active participation in the course
Methods Description of the individual contents with short theoretical examples, which are to be worked out directly in the LVA
