Objectives Basics of electrostatics and modelling of protonation states of proteins.
Preparation for written exam of the lecture.
  • Basics of thermodynamics and statistical physics.
  • Chemical reactions, acid-base equilibria, acidic and basic groups in proteins.
  • Basics of electrostatics, Poisson-Boltzmann equation. Application to protonation * states of proteins, Monte-Carlo technique.
Criteria for evaluation Number of successfully treated exercises.
