Objectives Students are able to classify, design, develop and evaluate techniques and technologies for interaction within (pervasive) computing environments.

Theoretical knowledge will be built up along with the capabilities to work with corresponding methods and tools in interaction design, development and evaluation.

Subject Keyboard, mouse and monitor have been the common I/O devices following the personal computing paradigm and strongly influencing our habits on how to interact with computers. Technological advances (visual computing, sensors, speech analysis and synthesis, ambient displays, etc.) are opening up a plethora of new interaction possibilities which are to be presented and discussed in this lecture in a systematic way. Basic interaction principles will be presented along with their possible implementation in hardware and software.
