Objectives The course aims to prepare the students for management decisions in the face of global challenges. In order to achieve that, the students will broaden their perspective and become aware of the relations and impacts of institutional differences between countries and continents. These insights will enrich the students` understanding of how various influences determine organizational realities, in which they operate in. It provides students with an intellectual toolkit to better grasp important conditions for organizational success, struggle or failure.

  • How do institutional settings orchestrate with each other?
  • The principles of complementary institutional settings and their variances.
  • Problems of incommensurability.

Topic 2 Ownership Structure

  • How does ownership dispersion influence organizational strategy and organizational behavior?
  • What conditions favor principal-agent or rather stewardship situations?

  • In what way does the educational system correlate with organizational strategy?

  • In what way does institutional complementarity influence the potential for innovation?
