Bachelor's programme Social Economics 2020W |
Objectives |
In this section students acquire knowledge and skills for the analysis of politics from a social science perspective. Attention is centered on the interplay of public, civil society and private actors, as they seek to produce, reproduce and further develop political order, social peace and sustainable socio-economic development.
|
Subject |
In the center of attention are political institutions and ideas in the policy field of welfare state development, since that is one of the central areas in which historical and contemporary political struggles have worked to construct the crucial socio-political settlements at the intersection of economic development, material well-being, distributional justice and socio-cultural cohesion. Political institutions, ideas, and dynamics are at issue on both the big politics of national and supranational policy-design and more local and bottom-up initiatives of social innovation.
