Objectives Students have an overview over the areas of computer science and its technical and theoretical foundations. The know how these areas are connected among each other and with other disciplines.
Subject History and classification of computer science; computer science as a scientific discipline; information theory, formats for storage and transmission of data; structure and basic function of computer systems; algorithms and data structures; programming languages; theoretical computer science; system software and applications; classification of operating systems, scheduling, parallelism, semaphores, deadlocks, memory management, file systems; theoretical computer models, computability, complexity
