Objectives reading and understanding of engineering drawings

know the most important standards of graphical representation and dimensions

basic understanding of surface qualities, shape and position tolerances

ability to perform simle raid prototyping tasks via 3D design and 3D print

  • contents and purpose of various kindes of engineering drawings
  • principles of graphical represenstation in classical 2D drawings
  • 3D CAD, design in FreeCAD
  • manufacturing drawings: dimensions, standardized graphical elements
  • 2D drawing generation from 3D CAD
  • sketching and imaging for presentation
  • shape and position tolerances, ISO fits
  • surface qualities
Criteria for evaluation evaluation of presentatins of homework assignments

written exam at the end

Methods presentations in 10 lecture units, for all groups together

several homework assignments, to be worked on in small groups of ~ 5 people, evaluated in presentation meetings (individual for each group)
