Objectives The practicum provides in-depth understanding of the basic methods and principles of structural lightweight design by means of simple experiments.
Subject Performance of laboratory experiments and their evaluation; Load tests on simple structures to determine material strength and component failure with regard to lightweight design applications: tensile test, Wöhler tests, crack propagation and residual strength tests, column and plate buckling and tests
Criteria for evaluation Attendance and participation; written reports
Methods Preparatory explanations on the black board; Provision of supplemental documents for download; Experiments on component test rig and in the measurement technology laboratory; Recording of test reports
