Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Mechatronics 2020W
Objectives The lab course is intended to demonstrate the entire width of mechatronics to students under the central theme 'autonomous vehicle'. Experiments, which are deliberately designed to be relatively descriptive, are intended to underpin the usefulness of well-founded basic theory in individual subject areas.
Subject The course contents are divided among the later areas of specialisation: Drive technologies: Here, the electric drive, the drive train and their efficiency are examined in more detail. Mechanics and smart structures: The acceleration process, bending beam and wind tunnel measurements are topics. Robotics and automation: Control loops and (PID) controllers are examined here using the example of ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control). Area Sensors and Electrical Systems: Sensors (for acceleration and distance) are evaluated and processed via the eLITe DSP board. Measuring devices and filter circuits are dealt with.
Criteria for evaluation Careful preparation, personal attendance and active participation in all practical exercises, as well as the submission of the corresponding protocols are prerequisites for a positive completion of this course.
Methods Preparatory scripts are available. Experiments in small groups and evaluation of the measurement results show the practical implementation of the theoretical basics. Instructors provide assistance and explanations when completing the individual exercises.
