| Objectives |
To learn bioethics with a focus on the ethical considerations that are relevant to the reserach field of the thesis.
|
| Subject |
The fundamentals include:
- a brief history of Western ethical thinking and an overview of the different ethical philosophies with exploration of the specific challenges
- an introduction to the main approaches to ethics in health care and research on human subjects
- the challenges of animal ethics
- an overview of ethics committees and their processes
|
| Criteria for evaluation |
Attendance of 80% is mandatory. It is not possible to achieve a positive grade if requirements concerning attendance cannot be fulfilled. Assessment is continuous. The positive result shall be described as "successful participation", the negative result shall be described as "unsuccessful participation".
