Objectives Students will acquire base knowledge in xenobiochemistry and toxicology. Students will acquire practical, hands-on experience in Xenobiochemistry and Toxicology.
Subject Introduction to toxicology, brief historical overview, the importance of biology and biomedicine. Toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics. Biomacromolecules as target of toxic substances (enzymes, receptors, proteins of cytoskelet, mitochondria and ribosomes, DNA atc. Review in toxicology of the most significant bacterial, cyanobacterial, fungal, plant and animal toxins. Review in toxicology of the most significant peptide and non-peptide toxins. Natural and synthetic poisons. Xenobiotics in environment.

Applying and discussing recently taught material from the courses in Xenobiochemistry and Toxicology.
