                      Students will get practical analytical experience in the lab by doing quantitative determinations based on basic techniques such as precipitation, titrations, light absorbance, or potentiometry.

 - Quantitation of acetic acid by an acid/base titration (including the standardizing of the titrant NaOH solution with a primary standard)

 - Quantitation of Fe(II) by a redox titration (including the standardization of the titrant potassium permanganate with a primary standard

 - Quantitation of total Fe in a surface water sample after derivatization with a color reagent followed by photometric analysis
 - Semi-quantitative nalysis of a commercially available pharmaceutical formulation by thin layer chromatography
 - Quantitation of Ca by atomic absorption spectroscopy
 - Quantitation of fluoride in a sample of tooth paste using a fluoride-selective electrode
