Objectives Introductory physics for molecular biosciences
Subject Introduction to probability and statistics Introduction to thermodynamics, with special emphasis on energy and entropy of different thermodynamic systems (polymer chains, ideal gas, Carnot process, van der Waals gas), mixtures of fluids and thermal conductivity.

Methods The lecture consists of working out the basic principles of physics with applications in thermodynamic model systems
