Objectives The continuously unfolding research field of Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing will be presented based on key research issues and contributions, the principle methods of system design and development, the state-of-the art of technology and the potential domains of application.
Subject Historical roots, vision and paradigms; enabling technologies for identification, positioning, localization and tracking; wireless communication, sensor/actuator systems, system architectures for networked embedded systems; systems software and middleware, system design for context-awareness, coordination, unobtrusiveness and multimodal interaction; ethnographic, social, legal, security and privacy issues.
Criteria for evaluation Written exam at the end of the semester
