Objectives The students know forms of interaction between information systems and Web based services that are driven by the semantics of data elements and processes, instead of their syntactical properties. The students are able to apply semantic technologies for integrating and exchanging data, and for composing and controlling business processes.
Subject Ontologies, selected ontology languages (e.g., RDF and OWL), structure and architecture of the Semantic Web, selected tools for ontology management and management of semantically annotated semi-structed data (e.g., Protegé); RDF and databases; content-based search and integration of data, composition and controlling of business processes with semantic technologies.
