Objectives Fundamental understanding of electrochemical reactions and the corresponding in-situ probing of reactive surfaces by different means of spectroscopy.
Subject Repitition and detailed presentation of electrochemistry. Spectroelectrochemistry starting with UV-vis transmission spectroscopy, reflection spectroscopy (internal, external and total-reflection mode), FTIR and Raman, Ellipsometry. Further X-ray diffraction, photoemission, Mössbauer and other aiding spectroscopic techniques. Refer to actual technological-electrochemical questions such as Li-ion batteries, hydrogen and CO2-recycling.
Criteria for evaluation Interactive elements included in evaluation. Oral examination in front of participants.
