Ziele (*)Selected interdisciplinary case-studies providing insight on typical characterization methods and various practical applications of modern molecular photochemistry.
Lehrinhalte (*)Overview on various deactivation processes of excited state species. Fundamental photokinetics. Excimer and exciplex formation. Intramolecular and intermolecular quenching of excited states. Fundamentals of energy transfer mechanisms. Photoinduced electron transfer and excited state proton transfer processes. Light-harvesting functionality and photosensitization of reactions.

Some practical aspects and case studies covering on demand several of the following fields: Photochemistry of Coordination Compounds; Supramolecular Photochemistry; Bioinorganic and Biomimetic Photochemistry; Photocatalysis; Solar Energy Conversion; Green Chemistry driven by Light; Molecular Photomedicine; Photopharmacology; Photobiology; Sensory Photoreceptors; Space- and Time-resolved Optical Control of Processes including Optogenetics; Photochromic Switches; Applications of Photochemical Key-Steps in Science and Technology.
