Objectives |
Students have an in-depth knowledge of selected advanced topics in production, logistics and supply chain management. They are able to describe planning problems using appropriate mathematical models. They are able to select and apply appropriate solution methods. Topic "Transportation Logistics": Students have a profound knowledge in long-term tactical as well as short-term operational distribution planning, such as parcel delivery, service technician routing and scheduling, patient transport etc. Topic "Layout & Design": Students have a profound knowledge of strategic location planning problems as well as tactical planning tasks for internal layout design. Topic "Production Planning and Inventory Management under Uncertainty": Students dispose of profound knowledge in lot sizing under uncertainty, e.g., with respect to the actual demand. Topic "Multi-Objective Optimization": Students dispose of profound knowledge in modeling and solving strategic and operational decision problems with multiple objectives, e.g., facility location planning considering cost and CO2 emissions or distribution planning in a disaster relief context.
