The course serves the ongoing presentation of the progress of the study and the quality assurance of the dissertation, especially in the sense of good scientific practice.
The course is led by several university teachers with venia docendi at the same time.

The assessment is based on the written and / or oral presentation of the respective status of the dissertation. Details will be announced at the beginning of the course.

- After consulting the supervisor, the lecturer may refer to the doctoral student's contributions to the dissertation topic in refereed journals or to the presentation of parts of the dissertation at international scientific conferences for a maximum of two dissertation colloquia.
- The joint holding of a dissertation colloquium for several subjects is permissible, especially if only a few dissertation students are expected in the respective subject areas.
- The assessment of the course is either "successfully completed" or "not successful".
- Public presentation of the expose / proposal as part of the dissertation colloquium in the 1st year of study
